What are your 60ft times? Are you spinning halfway down the track?

Yeah,my 60 ft sucks too. It seems like people with similar mods are doing higher trap speeds though.

Too much car for too little tire. If your 60ft times suck, its time for more traction adders. Slicks, LCA, PHR, and adjustable shocks.

60 ft, and "i know it sounds stupid" but what are you shifting at, and luanching at.

I have been launching at 3000 Rpm and shifting at 6000,seems like since I got the Diablo I don't have the bog any more at 3000 rpm.I was spinning pretty hard. It's really hard to get any racing done down here in Florida with Hot and rainy weather. Then you have the rice clowns:jest: in their RAV4's and mini-vans and doing stupid stuff like running their A/C in the lanes and driving through the water boxes

Yeah, I used to cut 1.8's on GSC's in my beater 95 auto Trans am. 12.98@101 bolt-on crap only. That's what is pissing me off about this car.

I ran my best times shifting at about 5400 rpm's. I tried 5800 and ran slower. My best is 13.69 at 106 mph with 2.37 60' (no traction, poor track conditions). It was about 85 degrees plus with super high humidity. :bang:

auto's seem to be more consistent. First time to the track i was up against a hoodless geo something, guy ran like 15 times. Loud as hell but ran like 17's. Just don't see the point.

a4 cars usually have a better 60ft times and get better with a nice stall

I was cutting 1.8x-1.9's on Kumho's on the juice in my old A4 Z28 and 2.0's on motor. M6's are tough.

Listen to Fast SS on TNT. He's right. Mod your suspension and get some new shoes.

Praise the almighty A4s, gotta love them, your mph doesnt seem all that bad considering your 60ft is not good should go up with a better 60ft time. Did you remove your front sway bar Should help somewhat, what tire presure you run, do you heat the nittos up , my tires run good at 20psi hot anything lower it starts burning them. Weather plays a big rle in your performance , if its hot and humid your hurting right there.

I was wondering the same thing about my 2000 TA. I just took it to the track on the 16th (New England Dragway). It was about 80 and real humid. My best was 14.11@102.06. my best 60ft was 2.22. NO TRACTION! The car is completely stock. What should I do first to get this thing into the 12's?

I am a pretty good mechanic but by no means a track expert, does your mph go up dramatically by decreasing your 60 ft times? My reason for asking this is I have seen similar cars, similar HP numbers, similar mods, trapping 109 to 114 mph.I need to find out what will get me there.

Next time try to granny it off the line. Stall at about 1500rpms, don't slam it off the line, keep it where it's at and slowly give alittle more throttle to get her rolling good. At about 15 to 20mph I would jump half throttle and then punch it. Keep practiceing with that until you hit the right spot where you don't get much wheel spin at all, taking the granny speed lower or higher, which ever works best for you.

I haven't tried since I had the mods put into my 99 TA. . . but bone stock when I raced, if I stalled at 1800rpms and floored it when the tree went down, I would have crappy 60' and 13.9+ on my times yet 100+ trap speeds.

Then I tried it at 1500rpms stalled. . waited for the tree and then just gave it alittle throttle to not spin off, then right at 15 mph I jumped it and managed to pull still not a impressive 60'. . like 2.12. . . but my 1/4 went down to 13.62.

I feel with alittle more practice I should be able to get it lower than that on these factory tires.

I'm going back Saturday with my mods and still crappy tires and try some more. I should hit lower 13s if not tapping upper 12s if I am lucky. . .but not keeping any hopes up :)

New england dragway is the worst track around for traction, (drag radial wise) they do not prep the track, I refuse to go there to just burn for 60ft.
