There's two camps on this, either it is the best sound ever or it is very raspy and sounds better with cats.

I don't have cats. I think it sounds just as good, if not better. However, I haven't really listened a great deal to either set up. My car probably ran for 30 minutes max after I installed the exhaust. Personally, I didn't hear anything I would characterize as rasp. I think I'm going to be very happy with the exhaust. I listened to a local LT1 car that had the Kooks catted Y-Pipe and a small cam. It also sounded good.

I don't think there are going to be many exhausts that sound better on an LS1 vs an LT1. GMMG says their exhaust is louder on an LT1.

I have Lts, ORY, through a GMMG and a LT4 Hot Cam and I get many compliments. It don't sound raspy at all. To me it sounds pretty mean. JMO.

when your talking catbacks, go either Gmmg or Borla and you won't regret it man, especially with LT's. IMO those are the best aftermarket catback exhaust systems on the market.

I think that GMMG is the best sounding catback by far. I ran it with LT's and cat after the Y for inspection and with an ORY. The ORY wasnt rapsy at all atleast to me and sounded it sounded a little louder than with the high flow cat after the Y. My vids are when I had a cat after the Y and they dont do it justice

Right now I'm running a set of pacetter LT's, ORY, and GMMG and it sounds badass! Now I just have to wait for spring so I can actually drive it again.

The people have spoken

I personally would do an ory. It may be more raspy BUT when you get on it, it will sound pissed as a ****. I run a single cat and wish I didn't have to still sounds pretty nice imo, have yet to hear a better sounding lt1 in my area.

I did true duals over the axle with 2 sweet thunders (bought the same thing) and it was an awesome setup.

Honestly the best sound ever for mine was long tubes with 40s dumped at the axle. Not the best flow though.

Now its dumped at the kmember.

here's a couple more, the first one is my favorite because you can really hear how sick GMMG sounds when just crusing:
