Default Converting to an auto., will I need to change out my...

MAF ends? I hear lots of people having problems with ported or descreened MAF ends and I was wondering if Im going to have to swap them for stock ones? My car is currently an M6, but its going to be converted to a 200-R4 soon. How does the MAF ends have anything to do with what tranny youre running? Is changing out my MAF ends is a must, or will I just have to see when everthing is put in to actually see if any problems are going to occur? Im going to leave it how it is for now, what things (problems) will it do so that I know that they will need to be swapped out? These problems that occur with ported/descreened ends, are they permanent? What does it affect? Thanks

Thats what I was thinking! Im gonna leave the ones that are in there (Granatelli ends that came with the sensor) and see what is does. It may give me problems, it may not. Are both your cars autos.? I was even thinking of doing the MBA high polished aluminum ends just for looks, I wonder if that will have any affect? Thanks

The MAF on an A4 has an impact on the transmission line pressure...MAF ends basically fool the computer into thinking it has less air (bypasses the MAF) and can cause a problem when the PCM calculates load and blow your tranny. Do a search, you should be able to find more info.

Is it even a concern for me since I will be swapping from an M6 to a non-electronic tranny? (200-R4)

no, its not a concern to you. your tranny will not be talking to the computer and vice versa . by the way, enjoy the 200-4r
