Default Hey, new and got a few questions

Hey guys, I know my name will create a problem for some, but I am a big fan of all cars, I just sold my 98 GT that was boosted, and was looking for a Terminator.... But I stumbled across a fairly clean 01 WS6, all stock 32,xxx, for 15k, is that a good price for this car.

Also coming from a boosted car, and wanting one that is so easly boosted to insane levels, what are the basic mods to make these LSx cars run in the 11's and still be a street car?

Thanks for the info in advance

Thats not a bad price but it doesnt hurt to try n talk em down. Your gonna need a nine inch rear to be that fast!

rearend lid longtubes and some other small stuff can get you into the 11's if you can drive and everything works in your favor and if not just slap and cam in there and you willl be good to go!

you wont need much to get into the 11's. You could go w/ some N2o and be there quick. My friends cam/tune/exhaust/gears 2001 SS runs 11.6's at 118 mph, not to shabby for a cam and exhaust car. A rear end will be in order for you sooner if it's a 6 sp. car, you can get away w/ more of a beating on the 10 bolt rear if it's an automatic. We have local guys running in the high 10's w/ a stout cam and some good heads + rear and gears.

I agree with everyone so far.
And no we are not worried about your name, as a boosted 4.6
is barley enough to handle a bolt on LS1.
Anyways welcome to the world of The General. Not much is needed to run 11's around here, a nice healthy cam and headers and supporting mods of course (i.e) a nine inch or 12 bolt and your on your way.

What were your GT's Numbers?

cam and exhaust can get you into the 11's, just depend on how nasty of a cam you want to go with.

Drag radials, exhaust and a 150 shot should net you atleast 11s.. Thats the easiest way.

Or go with a bolt on and cammed car and run 11s .. If your an auto get a 3500+ converter and you will be running prob low-mid 11s.

my stang was full bolt on and Paxton Novi 2000, boost pipe and blah blah blah, made 389 and 392.

Not crazy about having to put a rear in the car, but gotta pay to play I guess

its an M6

Sounds like a good price for a low mileage WS6. But you will deff need a new rear end with those goals.

damn, what kind of rear do most go with?

Also what kinda price does a fully built rear for one of these cars run, I built mine in the stang for prolly around 1000 bucks or so.

I guess I should clarify this, the car may see the track a few times, but I mainly want a street car that I know is capable of running in the 11's, so not like its gunna be run real hard.

If the car is capable of 11's, the stock 10 bolt is going to break FAST. Hell, some guys break them on near stock power. For large amounts of power you would need a ford 9'' but for 11's you would be fine with a 12 bolt. I'm not sure on pricing, but I would imagine more than the one grand you put into your Ford's rearend. Theirs is more stout from the factory.

It's an ok deal but I'd try and talk him down a bit more. And if you're looking to get into a Cobra (as am I, coming from an F-body), maybe you want to hold out. They are 2 very different cars. If you want to put that remaiinng money into the car, go for it with the WS6.

yea that the thing I like about the stangs, I ran the stock rear with only 410's for a while when it was blown before it took a crap.

So even on a strret driven car with street tires, if it makes enough to go 11's it will break the rear. that kinda sucks
