my local autozone started stocking it again. only AZ ever carried it. places like napa will special order it for you, but will never give you sales prices.

The autozone in my town ALWAYS has it in stock! I actually just bought some and changed my oil 2 days ago. Plus it was on sale, any 5 qts. of Castrol synthetic oil and a Mobile 1 oil filter for like $25. Hell of a deal compared to the oil costing almost $7 a quart by itself.

Get some German-1 Royal Line.

That's German Castrol, Mobil-1, Royal Purple and Red Line all mixed together. It's good stuff.

I think some Castrol guys paid some ls1tech members ot promote the product. I have GC 0-30 in my formula right now and im not sure why the hell I spent so much on a damn oil change. Seems like it burns very fast to me. I do have 125k miles though, that may say something. Although next change I will go back to something in synthetic but thats cheaper!

But the guys on this site sure do seem to love it!

on www.bobistheoilguy.com they did a lab analysis of a bunch of oils and GC 0w-30 had the best wear characteristics of any oil on the market on an LS1. and its gotta be the 'european formula' that says 'made in germany' on the back of the bottle... its a totally different formula than standard Syntec.

the difference between mobil one or any other synthetic oil and GC 0w-30 might not necessarily be worth going to the ends of the earth to find it... unless you are OCD about your car

Thanks for the info! Isn't 0w30 pretty thin oil though? I think here in TX most peeps run 5 or 10w30.. right?

BTW: That's a great site above ^^^

if you compare five 10w-30 oils, you will see a very drastic range of viscosity numbers. but in any case, dont pay attention to the numbers on the bottle... pay attention to the lab analysis.
