There are no springs in the disc, plus its an iron disc. When you let the clutch out it can have a tendency to be jerky or chirp the tires. Its overkill for a car with few mods and if you try to drive it like a regular clutch it won't last more than a few thousand miles.

I DD my Spec 5
402 rwhp, but at the track with the gas its 550+rwhp and 6000RPM clutch dumps
If I wasn't beating on it at the track, I would have gone Spec 3.
I've learned (quickly) how to drive it daily, but its not the most gentle.
but yes, whiplash

I have driven the stage 5 on the street...it can be done...but it is not intended to be a street specific set-up. Stage 5 uses a Sintered iron disc which is very soft in regards to material hardness. Because of this it will wear faster than a CSM (carbon-semi-metallic) disc and thus provide lower life expectency. What kind of power are you making? Let me know and I will be happy to provide a recomendation. Thanks!

I think the Spec 2 is often overlooked if you are making in the 400 range or less. The only reason I'd step up to the Stage 3 is if you race and hotlap a lot. The 2 doesn't like the hotlapping, but technically should have a longer life because of the kevlar friction material on both sides.

slightly more street friendly clutch than the 5 would be the stg 4. still no springs so the engagement is pretty sharp, easing around parking lots or in traffic is not so fun.
but it does grab hard.....can't beleive my 10bolt is holding on with the 315DRs
but for what you need....stage 2 or 3....or throw on the LS7 with a lighter flywheel.

for more street and lower power get the 3, i love dmy stg3 great street manners and great mileage outta it. my stg 5 drives as smooth as glass right now after an extremely rough season of beatings it is harsh and very touchy on/off on the street . you get used to it but stop and go it may **** you off
as for the way mine is now, its toast so thats why its so smooth now , being replaced soon
