well I am finishing my motor build this weekend, its a 396ci with TSP 2.5 and a 246/252 .633/.643 110
I am hoping for 470rwhp and about 450rwtq with a 4.125 should be a torque monster

Hmmm. Through an auto with all supporting bolt-ons? I'll say 460ish rwhp/tq... The LS6-style intake is going to hold you back a bit. I am looking at a 90-92mm set-up for my 383 right now...

based on a 346 ci divided by making that power a 383 should make 470rwhp just from the same setup... dont u think?

I would expect anywhere between 450 rwhp and 520 rwhp. It is really hard to say. There is always the question of how that cam with work with each set of heads. I think the best results would come from the Trickflow heads though. What other mods are you thinking of electric water pump, etc? What type of converter do you have and what rear gears. All of those will also have an impact on the final chassis dyno numbers.

I did a big-bore 383 for a buddy a few years back.
It recently laid down 550/478RW through a TH350 on motor.
Ran 10.5's @132mph &3550lbs raceweight.

what exactly is a big bore 383? i thought the 383 had a .030 bore and the different crank... could someone please explain. i would think that a larger bore would equal more cubes and make it like a 388 or something like that ya know? anyways ...

a stroker 382/3 ls1 is a 3.903 /3.905 bore(not .030 over) with a 4 inch crank.
an all bore 383 is a sleeved 4.100bore(i think) and a stock crank

All bore 383 would be a 4.102" bore and a stock stroke of 3.622".

Otherwise you would make a 383 by using a stock LS1 block honed to 3.905" and installing a 4" crank with the appropriate rod and piston set.

IBADAIR beat me to it....

The 'Big Bore' 383 we did was nothing like anything else out there.
I won't use aftermarket sleeved blocks.
We used an Iron 6L block bored to 4.060".
Eagle crankshaft (stock stroke) that we had offset ground to a 3.70" stroke.
SBC 6.125" rods.
Custom Pistons.
