Read it closely. It says that modified motors have seen close to 30 hp. That probably doesn't mean with a stock intake manifold.

I can certainly see a 30 HP gain (at the flywheel) on a solid lift 427ci engine spinning 8000 RPM over a bone stock TB IF...and this is a BIG IF, it has an intake manifold with an inlet as big as the TB. 1200cfm is a helluva lot more than stock but it doesn't mean jack with a 75mm oriface right behind it.

On an engine with a stock inlet manifold I can see the same gain as you would get by porting your stock TB and no more.

There is no need to spend that much money. Even if I had a huge heads and cam setup I wouldn't buy that for 600 bucks. Send your stock one to Bauer and have it ported and powdercoated .

Talked to the guys today at TPIS about this setup. They have seen CLOSE to 25FWHP on a heads cam setup WITH the modded intake. The intake is another 500 bucks with an LS6 exchange intake to boot. So 1000 bucks for 25FWHP. If youre maxxing out your setup, go for it. Otherwise enjoy the stock ported TB I definately wouldnt do it on a stock cube motor. It would have to be over 400 cubes and spin the hell out of it
