Default Easiest way to remove carrier from housing???

What is the easiest way to pop the carrier, shims, bearing assembly out of the differential housing? I've seen housing spreaders, but, am hoping for a different solution. The car is about 1.3' off the floor. That pretty much rules out long pry bars. Thank-you for any assistance.

Here's a neat trick. Put a wrench on the ring gear bolt , choose a bolt about halfway up the gear and have the end of the wrench facing down so it is near the housing. Now turn the pinion so the wrench buts up against the housing. Now with a little more force on the pinion it will walk the carrier right out. Just be prepared to grab the carrier so it doesn't drop. Try it, it works really well.

I'm here to testify to the value of search, LS1Tech, and DaddySS' trick. Thanks and Hallelujah!
