Default '01 Suburban Heat & A/C Problems - where to find answers?

folks - i always find answers here for problems with my camaro. where can i find a similiar website that addresses Chevy/GM suburban/truck issues? the few websites that i've seen are more focused on performance upgrades vice just general problems.

specifically - my '01 suburban 1500 (120k miles) has an interior heat problem, in that the controls don't seem to control the blower fan speed nor temperature. the blower motor won't come on at switch positions 1, 2, or 3 - but works fine at position 4 & 5. the temperature control works fine unless it's turned all the way to the highest heat setting - then no matter where the temp switch **** is set, the heat remains at the hottest temp.

i've swapped out the control box (fan switch, temp setting ****, and outlet setting switch) with a known good one to no avail. there are a couple of relays in the system that i'm trying to find - hence my question on a good gm truck based website. this is beyond chiltons and haynes manuals.

i have a couple of other electrical gremlins to track down, and i hate going to a dealer unless totally required.

thanks for reading, thanks for any suggestions, thanks for any help that lets me focus on my camaros (99 z28 and '69 rs vert).

Agreed, I had some fan speeds that didn't work....replaced the resistor.

In my 2001 2500HD the replacement ( revised ) part number was 89018597
