CE=California Emissions, EX=Export, MT=Manual Trans, AT=Automatic Trans, AC=Air Conditioning, AH=Aluminum Heads, HA=High Altitude UU=Uncertain Usage

Base Engine: 350ci V8 205hp

These cars would run low 9 second 1/8 mile times, and get good gas mileage. Working on the engine though is a pain in the butt on these model years. Things are very tight in there. Bob

I got my 85 without a gauge cluster and no body damage but hadnt been ran in 10 years and was sitting under a tarp for $3000 but i needed another project car
but good working and clean i would pay bout 7000ish but i am not a big fan of the c4's
and i personally bout the vette to fix and sell for cash for an LS1 T/A wich is coming this winter

1984 was the first year for the C4, and it has the cross-fire injection system. This cross-fire is NOT known for it's reliability. I have read about one guy hot rodding an '84 with good results, but typically the '84 is not highly regarded. I bought a '94 off ebay for $8,100 back in '06. It had back synchronizers in 4th and 6th gears, but I drove it around 10k miles before I replaced the transmission. A brand new ZF 6-speed transmission cost me $1,000 from GMPartsDirect. I sold the old 6-speed for $350 on ebay. With a new clutch, I had a nice '94 for ~ $9k.

I would really recommend you try to find an LT1 car ('91 and up). I think he will have a hard time getting $8k for the '84.

Check the corvetteforum.com, ebay, and Craigslist.com. There are a lot of C4s out there for < $10k.
