...until the first quickstreet race! I'm starting to get spring fever.

Cleaned out the garage

Organized my tools (Which got dumped out of my tool box at the last race):bang:

Car starts coming apart tomorrow :D

I haven't even looked at the car since I pushed it into the garage last November. I didn't even drain the water out of it or pump anti-freeze, I just put a little space heater blowing under the car, I probably spent $300 in electricity this winter just to keep it from freezing :jest:

I'll have a shit load of parts for sale in the next few weeks... still looking for a drivers side T-top if anyone has one cheap :emb: :jest:

I'll be running Real Street (9.50). They don't really have any rules... they just make them up as they go :eyes: Page 44 of the NED racers handbook has the same rules as last year, but they change them at random. Basically I don't assume anything, I go to the outlaw racing corp tent and ask questions a couple times a day when we're at the track.

And congrats on the baby on the way!

I plan on running fast street once my car is together.

This is the tentative schedule... it will be updated with any final changes on March 1st.

Fast street is going to be a huge class this year, last fall the class was getting bigger every week.

cars are so gay, its winter, sled time baby.

My car has been chillin on my lift since the last time out in the fall. untouched. havent even looked at it, but since i did tubes i havent even added air to the tires. lol

i do have to get a move on here and get a set of heads. also i think im going to get rid of my big ass stock location fuel system, see if i can loose 100 pounds with it. then maybe a set of wheelie bars. or maybe i will just throw a set of heads on it and rip it out and run it as is. we'll see. right now there snow, must play in the snow

What class are you gonna try to run this year Brad? Another 100 lbs out and a good set of heads may be enough to get it close to 8.50 class yes?

BoostnTBSS
02-19-2008, 08:38 AM
I would say the 8.50 class will be the 8.1's cars that dont have the new SFI setup.... similar to my car certed to 8.50's... car ran 5.41 in the 1/8 with 750fwhp NOS small block.... now 150lbs lighter and 300 plus HP :) good for 8.50's

i'll probably keep running the real street 9.5 index, im not sure yet. i think im just throwing a set of cheep heads back on it to get her ripping again so with the 100 shot im pretty good with the 9.5 class its a little to fast, but i can tune it down a scrap. im not sure tho. i may just say screw it and let all the sand baggers run real street and i'll loose in quick street. lol

Why, what changed for SFI now? I'm already wondering if I'm gonna get the boot for not having a chute on the car, I'm hoping they stick with the 150 mph deal and not try to inforce the 9.99/135 mph that seems to be floating around.

OF course with epping being ihra, they'll probably give me shit for getting an nhra lic and chassis cert anyway.

jl, for what its worth, NED will do an IHRA cert just about any day they are racing as long as Buddy, or joe are there they will do a cert on the spot. goes pretty fast as well

I'm sure if they see a car with an NHRA cert on it already it will go pretty quick, the rules aren't that much differnet.

i had a nhra, all they did was sonic test it, check my window net and just a fast look over it. bruce did mine, and i get alot of people very impressed with his work. including the tech guys at different tracks. he is good. just cover your car, it gets scratched at his shop . lol

I have 1/2 ass heat, it's better then nothing that's for sure. I will have the elecricity run out there the right way this spring, at that point I can insulate and sheetrock it, so it won't be too bad. Maybe I'll have to get you down to put a space heater in that I can run off a big propane bottle, I have to look into it a little more, make sure the local propane guys will come fill it once or twice a year.

I don't see myself getting a lift anytime soon though. I'm gonna need a taller set of jackstands and a jack that will go higher to drop the tranny so I can pull the motor probably within a month :(

I have electricity, but my heat is one of those buddy heaters that mounts on a propane bottle. My garage only has one door and is about two cars wide but you can only fit one in there since I have shelves, tool boxes, refrigerator...etc. This weekend I need to find some higher jackstands so I can get the headers out.

I use one of those heaters myself, and I've had an extension cord running out to the garage for a year :bang: This spring the power's gonna get run out the right way, then I will insulate and sheetrock it. Probably get Brad or someone to come put in a hanging space heater so I don't have to mess with getting little propane bottles filled all the time.

I have a 24x24 with a single 16 foot door, I can put 2 cars in it when it's cleaned up, but I have an entire interior on the floor, dash, etc, plus a bunch of other shit in there. ONce I have it sheet rock'd some shelves will go up on the walls, and I will build a workbench, get my drillpress and all the other good power stuff that's in the basement out there so it's more accessable.

Then there's finishing off 1/2 the basement much like you did a while ago, but that's another project LOL.

I can get headers out with my jackstands, but my jack is shot, and I need to be able to drop a tranny out, which is gonan require more height then I can get out of what I have, nevermind dropping the tranny on my back is gonna suck.
