I agree, and shipping shouldn't cost more than $50...I've seen several pairs of heads and its usually been around 40-45. (but that was for SOHC heads, that might weigh a little more)

With the light valves Yes it is a good deal, just make sure they are not LS2 heads otherwise you can get a brand new set for 400>450$$

Also just FYI you'll need to get those LS6 heads refreshed, seats/seals springs, valve guide check and valve job. Soooo a brand new set of LS2s from Patriot (Gunnar) would be cheaper after all.

if he goes 350 shipped then it would be a good deal. In stock form they really are not worth too much more.

They would still need to be refreshed, which is additional $$
If you plan on doing so get them, but like I said you can get BRAND NEW LS2/LS6 243 castings fron Gunnar at Patriot for less than refreshing those. They are the same heads just different valves.

They are LS6, not LS2, those valves are worth some $$$. You can get some cheap deals out there on new sets of heads, but not with those valves

You sure on that? I thought the 01 LS6 heads did NOT come with the lightweight valves, only the '02-04 did.

What's the difference between '01 LS6 heads and LS2 heads?

I didn't read the 01 Z06 part, you are correct. They aren't anything special in that case. 243s are still great heads, but without the benefit of the 02-04 valves I'd look into something else

Just contact Gunnar at Patriot Performance. Tell him you want a stock set of LS2 243 casting heads. If you plan on camming the car, you can get them with duals at extra cost but Gunnar will install them for ya.
