first off yes you can do the cam swap by yourself..just need tools and PATIENCE..you can go to www.ls1howto.com and there are numerous books that will show you step by step how to do the swap...and what tools are required...

Fast specialties, [ vancouver wa.] told me it would run around a thousand for the install, then another 350-as much as 475. 00 for the tune.
I have a GM Hotcam waiting to go in.

Its expensive and all adds up, also depends on what parts your getting.

Around $1800 total is my guess.

Labor would be where you save if u do it yourself. My guess its near 400-600.

Here is one of the sponsors to see their install prices during a special.

Depending on what parts you buy, I would say my cam swap snuck about 1500 and that was me doing the labor!!!! I think TSP said it would run about 600-800 more for them to install

it's around $1500 IF you have a shop do all the work, then you might as well do ported LS6 oil pump and LS2 timing chain. then of course you need a tune depending on how big your cam is. I say do the heads too while you're at it.
