do i have everything?(not another one of these)
Ok guys, getting ready for the cam install. Just wanted to go over my parts list with everyone to see if i am forgetting something.
Bought a package deal from futral. Includes cam and springs etc. F-13 highlift with dual springs
msd plugs and wires
tsp ported and shimmed oil pump
longer crank bolt
cloyes hex adjust timing chain with gears
gm timing cover gasket
gm timing cover seal
water pump gaskets
gm harmonic balancer bolt??(dont know why i need that)
6 quarts of oil
jug of dexcool
getting the pulley puller and spring compressor from a friend
am i missing anything? I hear the valve cover gaskets are reusable as long as they are in good shape.
Is the wood dowel method to hold up the lifters safe? Just regular 5/16 dowels or do they have to be flat on one side? read that somewhere
Did my tsp pump come with a new pickup tube o-ring? or do i need to buy one?
Last but not least, and this is the one i really dont know about and need some good adivice. Do i need to purchase larger fuel injectors? And if so what size?

I don't believe that you will need new injectors with just a cam if you don't have the money at this time. When you go to do your tune they can tell you the duty cycle on your injectors. Your car is the 01 so it has bettrer injectors than the 98-00 cars. If you can spare the money on the injectors than go on and go for it that way you can get it in with your tune all at once. I'm not sure about the o-ring on the oil pump.I don't think that the dowels have to be shaved, but it can't hurt might help. Just take enough off to put a flat surface on it, I wouldn't want to make it to flemsy. It would be a royal bitch for that thing to break in the back of the block.

$ isnt really a problem. I live a long way from my tuner. I just hate to get there and he says, you know, you really need bigger injectors. I just want to have to go down there once. I live in northwest louisiana, and my tuner is in baton rouge. Anyone else have opinions? Thanks for the first one 02ws6ta

Dude you forgot the main ingredient when doing mods....or anything else for that matter...plenty of cold beer.
You will be fine with the injectors that you have now. But the next mod (like a set of heads) you do will put you over the edge and you will have to get some.

nevermind, my pump just came in and evedently i forgot to order a new pickup o-ring. So if i go to the autoparts store and buy a factory replacement will it work on the new ported and shimmed oil pump?? Or does the o ring have to be of bigger size? Sorry if this is a dumb question
