Support your local tuner man! I drove to Ion@madz28 and gave him my computer, he took it and ran inside, re-tuned it and gave it back to me. Took maby 15min and i was on my way back home with a tuned computer!! So i wasnt down a car at all!!
IMO thats your best way and his tune is pretty ****** good!

Since you're in IL, I'd say go with MadZ28. Dekalb isn't too far away and I plan on hopping onto I88 sometime this summer and venturing up there to have Ion tune my car. Just because I don't want to pay a core fee or worry about swapping out the PCM's myself. Hey Taubr, how much did he charge you since you went there and had him do it in person?

I wasn't sure if he'd be charging for what a tuned PCM costs or whether he'd just charge the same as an email tune. I'll probably go up there this summer after I get some LT's and my true dual setup. It's only a couple hours and would be a fun road trip for me and a friend or two. Can't be any further than driving back from Champaign, when I bought the car.

both are great from what i have heard. I talked to Ion through email and he replies really fast. I am using Bluecat though since he originally tuned my car and he does a good job too.

a buddy of mine used both of them with minimal succes from either, ION tune was on his first few setups and the bolt on only tune was good, then he did LT4 hotcam and trickflow heads(a very easy cam to tune) and ION's tune was PIG rich, and i had to fix it. then he got an ed write tune... then his next set up was a much bigger cam and ported the heads/intake. he went with pcm4less for a baseline tune. had he not had lt1 edit handy the car would have taken forever to get home. wouldnt idle much at all and was way off in low load areas(cruise-n-round) wide open throttle was good. anyone can write you a good tune for a bolt on car, but tho way more $ ed write is still the man for the LT1 WORLD.
