Just put my 5.3 back in my LTD wagon tonite. Pan is about 2.5 inches below crossmember also. Keeping mine though, car dosen't sit that low, I've got about 6 or 8 inches of ground clearance, kinda like a truck. I would say it would depend on how low your car is going sit.

I dont have any good pics but ive been driving my 89 fox with a truck pan for a year like that with no issues ... I may goto a car pan when i goto the tubular k tho because there will be alot more pan hanging out in the open. Ill try to snap some pics!

Tirefryin thanks, your coupe is badass i love it! I picked up an 89 4 banger coupe found an LQ9,have a turbo 400 gonna get the 8.8 rear next.I'm thinking of going twins with the truck manifolds non intercooled and burning e-85.

Here's a couple of pictures of how far below a AJE K-member it hangs. It's almost 3" below the rack. If anyone is worried about clearance, I recommend going with the Fbody oil pan. It sits almost flush with the rack.

Here's the Fbody pan. It looks alot more comfortable on lowered cars!
