Default need help with ls1 swap in 86 irocz?

hello everyone im the newbie on the board...lol. all the fellows on thirdgen.org said to come here with my questions so here i am. i have an 86 iroc that is carbed stock. i am putting a 12 bolt rear in and bla bla bla you name it it will get upgraded or already is. but im thinking about an ls1/ls6 and t56 swap. my iroc has a 5 speed now to. but i would like to have at least 500hp at the flywheel. 450 to 500 at the wheels is prefered. i dont want to go the used route and have the engine all re built anyway. i was looking at crate ls1 and ls6 from gm. if i go with the ls1 crate i would waste money on the top end since i know i would have to change the heads and cam anyway. the ls6 i would probably swap out the cam and get the heads CNC'd and go with a fast 90mmintake and throttle body and tune. could i achieve those hp numbers with the ls6 and mods i listed? if not what do you guys recomend that i do to the engine to get those numbers. im not to worried about drivability since it is only my toy. not my DD. sorry if these questions have been answered, ive been looking at post here and other sites and im beat and spent about 4 hours reading up on all this swap stuff and mods thanks everyone.

For what you would pay for a GM crate engine, you could get a nice forged short block. Then you can get your H/C package and find you a intake in the For Sale section. 450 plus at the wheels can be had with numerous H/C packages from just about any sponsor. I would recommend TSP since they hooked me up with mine

you can make good power with just a big cam with an ls1 with stock heads and an ls6 intake. the cams are quite large but its very reachable with an lsx.

i seen you first post about looking at TSP after i asked my last question..lol. sorry. well im on about a ten grand budget for a full engine. i was looking at TSP 402 long block.... i love all f bodies but the lsx engines were the best thing to happen to the f body!!!!! i think im going to get TSP to do me a full 402 engine and bottle feed it and shoot for 800+ on the bottle. now for the hassle of putting a 6 speed in my iroc...yippy thanks guys for all the help so far
