Service Vehicle & Airbag lights
This morning I got into my car to drive home and I noticed the airbag light and service vehicle light both stayed on for the entire ride home, I had just gotten gas so figured maybe the guy didnt tighten the cap, checked and it was tight so any ideas why both lights would stay on?

my auto instructer told me that a air bag light is extremly dangerous! its really bad to drive with the light on, he said there were few people that actually got killed do to the air bag blowing for no apparent reason! i dont want to scare you guys or anything but just giving you a heads up! get some more opinions tho!

Try disconnecting the battery? It may be a bad SDM for the airbag system, I have seen these malfunction for no reason before. When they do it does cause the check engine light and airbag light to come on.

Exactly, thats the whole reason that light comes on in the first place--something is wrong with the SRS system so it "can't" deploy. I think codes that deal with the SRS are stored in the BCM not the PCM so thats why you can't pull them with a regular scanner, i could be wrong tho.
