lowering compression
So doing some research, lowering compression on a stock motor.
1. I could get some 317's, ARP HS and upgrade the springs.
2. Thicker head gaskets (need brands or recomendation) and ARP's
3. Both w/ARP's
If I did go the single turbo or Procharger route I'm not looking for more than 500 tops.

Don't go over about .050" on the gaskets - you don't want to ruin your quench area. You can end up with lower compression but worse detonation by doing that. What's your CR now?
Good intercooling is generally more effective than lowering your CR, unless it's something insane, like 11.5+.

The truck heads they are talking about will bring you down to 9.6:1 or so. Intercool it, and you'll be good for that 500 you are looking for and then some.
And on a side note... I love that Sunoco hood NicD. I want one of those things.
