Default All Show or All Go!!??

Here's my situation and I know that this has probably been beat to death. Flame suit on. Here we go. I now live in southern GA, about 20 min outside of Atlanta and I came here from New Orleans due to Katrina. I purchased my second F-body here (2001 arctic white ss with factory chrome slp zr1's and blowmaster exhaust-originally came with slp dual-dual but previous owner removed it). I never get a chance to go the track and the most I really ever get to "drive" the car is an occasional street race and it's my dd. However while everyone's not into racing they are into looking good. I know you guys and gals are going to say do whatever it is I want to do and don't worry about anybody else but how much use would a h/c and extensive exhaust setup get out o a daily driver as opposed to a nice wheel and tire combo with a gmmg exhaust. Like I said it's a dd and I don't go to the track or plan to I just wanna go a little faster but don't want to waste a ton of money on useless mods in my case. I may be moving back home(New Orleans) soon and down there it's more of how you look as opposed to how fast you are..so given x amount if dollars what would you do...change wheels and tires and stance with gmmg exhaust and stock everything else(maybe a nice sound system and some tint) or a really nice motor setup with zr1's and lower stance??? Sorry this is so long

Well what I did was go full bolt ons cam and stall. Waited about 6 months and added wheels and suspension. Now I just ordered some more go fast parts cause my appearance is almost done. I like to look good but being fast while looking good is better.

no question i would do the nice wheel and tire combo and gmmg because not only will youre car sound sickk as hell but it will look damn good too. Best of both worlds and you wont be spending a lot of money on a H/C setup and have a stock looking car. Plus when u do H/C you have to have all the supporting mods and then you might start breaking **** which will also cost more $$$.

i say about 50/50 i wouldnt make my car look stock and be extrememly fast, and i wouldnt make my car look really fast but be slow, a lil of both is best, i could be way off but if you ever decided to sell you could get rid of the wheels for more

Do a combo of both and have the best of both worlds.

I put on an exhaust, but I needed traction so I had to get bigger wheels that could handle bigger tires. With new, bigger tires, I needed a better suspension to launch (in progress buying right now) which should end up looking pretty damn good too.

Add in a future stall and cam setup, you can look really good and go respectably fast too

Leaning more towards the show myself due to a v6...
buying a ram air hood and a t/a bumper eventually and i just spent around $1600 in stereo stuff. i was thinking about swapping out the cam and maybe changing the gears but nothing to drastic seeing as it is only a six.

ya i ended up getting wheels first but thats cuz i got a good deal, in the spring im doing headers and true duals. i think it is important to have a nice mix of both. my plan is to do full bolt ons then turn back to appearance.

I went with some of both, however am definitely more heavily weighted towards the GO. I would love to buy Torq Thrust II's or another set of nice wheels for my SS, however I keep just dumping the $$$ into the motor! At the end of the day, if your car is going to be a daily driver, get it to look the way you want to (as it's already pretty quick in stock trim) and then you can feel free to bolt on mods as you see fit down the road!

I agree with this. While saving for bolt-ons, I'm doing the "Free Mods" that don't cost anything and help your looks. Like pulling the bump strip and badges, filling the corner lenses and getting the paint smooth.

Don't go all out on one or the other. Do a little on go and a little on show. Now instead of a fast car that looks stock or a nice looking slow car, your looking better and better and getting faster and faster!! Me, I bought rims(show), exhaust(go), tint and tips(show), now i'm buying springs and shocks(a bit of both worlds) and next is a cam(all go baby). But that's just what I like to do
