threesome not going to happen, I am in the process of quitting smoking, doing quite well actually. I am in decsent shape, but I have been jogging about a mile a day and need to do more pushups for shure.
I got 2e231 computer network switching, I am already a computer geek so I know I will like it hopefully plus if I leave it should help me find a job.
Black_dragon, since you get there a week before me, I will not see you unless you are held over for a week.
What is in the pre packaged meal, crap on a stick, lol.
And yes, I am taking in all I can get from my wife and daughter!!!
Thanks guys,
Steve

Dude, it's not like your going away for years ya know!
It's ONLY 6 (or is it 8 now?) weeks for Pete's sake!
I thought it was kind of like being grounded like when I was living at home.
However, i did quit smoking (i didn't start back up after basic/tech school). Think of basic like a rite of passage.
Anyway....have FUN!

I understand basic is only 6 1/2 weeks, but I leave for tech right after, no home time, and my tech school is at kessler for 5 1/2 months. The wife I can take a break from, but I will miss alot of my daughters growing, but I am ready to realize the consiquence of joing and I know I am doing this for her so when I get out I will beable to get a better job somewhere out of ohio. I hate Ohio!!!! Hey black, what job are you going in for and what tech shool are you going too, my name is Steve Toutant by the way.

If you really intend to quit smoking, just wait till you are in basic. No sense in tourturing yourself (and your family) before you leave. If you really want to quit, you will have plenty of time in basic to NOT smoke.

i went in open mechanical, but i take the PAST test before i leave and if i pass then ill decide, if i wanna go SERE or not, if i do sere then its in fair child washington, and if not then ill ask for AGE when i get there and ill more than likley get it, and that tech school is at sheppard in tx, if i would quit being a pussy i would just go ahead and go CCT instead of waitng 3 years, then i would be going to keesler wiht you for 25 weeks for ATC training

well if your an element leader or a dorm chief it seems like you get more shit. like when ppl screw up you pay for it.
it all depends on your TI, ive heard there are some cool ones but i had some that were big dicks to say the least.
the lady TI's are a joke especially when they're tryin to intimidate you :jest:

Oh please, if you see each other give a shout. Your TI and any surrounding TI will love it. Feel free to be chatty-cathy during chow too. Don't forget to walk with your hands in your pockets, wipe your nose in formation, wear your hat backward and especially don't forget to store your chapstick in your portfolio/canteen web belt while you sleep. I'm not sure if your recruiter told you or not, but it's a really good idea to wear your "Property of the Air Force" tshirt or w/e the recruiter gave you that says Air Force on it. TI's see this as a sign that you're not going to be a pain in the arse and they'll go easier on you. It's generally a good idea to stand out as much as possible.
Bed aligner was by far the easiest detail.

You might as well not get a hair cut or cut your facial hair either. Grow it while you can. I went to basic with a beard and a black eye (I got pictures). It's cool because they don't make you shave until like the 3rd day when you get your sterile uniforms.
Hungover work sucks. I'm pretty sure I could have gotten a DUI driving to weekend duty the day after the Christmas Party. Fuck...Open bar is both a gift and a curse.

Good luck man, it's not too bad. I went through back in April-May of 2001. I was a bed aligner lol, easy shit. The only job I would volunteer for is Guide-On. That and the dorm chief are the 2 positions that will pretty much never get "recycled", because the TI is counting on you to give him/her a good score on your graduation day march. Plus the guide-on is a sweet job, our TI would challenge other flight's guide-ons to see who would go to chow first, pretty cool. Plus the guide-on is the one with the flag and everyone sees you when you march. DO NOT be the chow runner, thats a shitty job lol.
Oh BTW, you get your Airman's coin when you graduate Warrior Week (5th week).
I have lots of pointers if you want. Just pm me.
