San Diego Area Cruise
Hey guys, was just wondering who would be interested in a cruise in April. I have a buddy getting back from Iraq that has a Trans Am and a Camaro, and then of course there is mine. Would like to welcome him back with at least 20 F and Y Bodies crusing down the 5 or the 15. Anyone intrested. I was thinking about meeting in Oceanside, near the front gate of camp pendleton. There is a Denny's there, and that might be a prime spot. Thinking about a Saturday, but it will depend on when EXACTLY he gets back. Please post if you are interested. You DO NOT need to be military, but I am sure more than a few of you will be.
I would appriciate the help welcoming him back the F-Body way.

Right now I do not have an official time or date since we do not know the exact day he gets back. I will map a route then start passing it around. After I get all that info, I will post official info on a new thread.

I just talked to him. Tenative date is April 26 at 9am. Meeting place will be Denny's right next to the front gate of Camp Pendleton in Oceanside CA. Map routes will be forthcoming. I can gaurantee that there will be at least 5 F-Bodies there right now. Looking to have at least 20 F and Y Bodies. Tell all your friends. PM me with any questions.

Here is the information I have at this time regarding the cruise:
So far, I have heard from 9 F-Bodies and one GTO (who says he might have a couple of other GTOs with him, which is cool). There might be two more F-Bodies if RedHotTransAm gets his Camaro going with his new tranny, and if he feels like letting the TransAm out on the expressway.
Date: 26 April 2008 at 9am.
Place: Oceanside Denny's (on the 5 right next to the southernmost gate of Pendleton)
Route: South on the 5, East on the 56, North on the 15, West on the 78 and either North or South on the 5 towards Irvine or San Diego or end in Oceanside around where we started.
All of this is tenative. Maybe even the date, depending on when he ACTUALLY lands in CA. Two weeks out, this will be set in stone. I really want to make this as massive as possible, and I have posted it on LS1.com. Thinking about even posting it elsewhere (like a Charger website or something). The more American Muscle the better. I will look into contacting any actual Southern California F and Y Body groups. The reason I want so many numbers, is that in the past when 10 have said they will show up, 5 do. So I am counting on the attrition. But if we get 50 going up and down the expressways, driving the CHPs nuts, all the better. I think this could be a blast. And if we get a massive enough response, I say we find a park or a beach and do tailgating and pictures. I do not think small gentlemen. (and leave the fat girl jokes alone)

If you go north on the 15, and go East on the 78, you are going to go farther away from where you seem like you want this cruise to go. And you also can't go North on the 78. Either West or East.

Good point. Any suggestions? There is a strip mall off the 78 that I can think of that might work well... If anyone has better meeting place suggestions, I would love to hear them!

whoops. Typo. Sometimes I type faster than I can think. I corrected it. The route would be south on the 5, east on the 56, north on the 15, west on 78 back to Oceanside. Then we can either end or go north or south on the 5. Sorry.
