Street Racing & Kill Stories - Gotta Hear this one!!!

Ok Yesterday the Roads were finally dry And I decided to take my car out of the garage to hear my newly installed Lt's and Td's. I was cruising into the Local Mcdonalds Parking lot to pick up a little food. I look over and I see A blue Fox Body mustang with a Primer cowl hood and cobra rims. I was like that looks like it could be a pretty fast.... I see him pulling out so I hurried up and pulled out to follow him. I get up beside him and I Think I hear a Turbo spooling. He gets on it a little bit and I was like HOLY CRAP!! its Defenantly a Turbo! I then knew I was going to get SPANKED but figured what the hell... I roll down my window and he rolls down his and I yell "Lets go from a 45 cuase we cant stop on this road" and he gives me a thumbs up. 45 is the sweet spot on my car (m6) so I figured it would be my best chance. I did the three honk and we were off..I started pulling right off the bat and had buss lengths by 100. I was like what the HECK!!!??? I slowed back down and then He honked it off from like a 35 with the same result.. I followed him into the parking and we talked for a while but I was curious to what it was...did I really hear a Turbo??? I infact I DID hear a turbo....It turns out its a Turbo 2.3 4cyl...LMAO. He says he has an engine out of a 99 cobra that he's going to swap and he wants a rematch then. I never knew such a thing exsisted as a 2.3 turbo stang..LOL...Fun race good guy

LOL I was thinking "What in the hell....here we go" until I saw it was the 2.3L. But hey, there are some fast SVO's out there!

Better watch out for those SVO's. They can get crazy very fast.

I have TD's and at 45 in 2nd well you get the point....Its exhaust was quiet but you cant mistake turbo spool

It might not have been an SVO, as there were just regular 2.3 Turbo GTs... but yeah those motors can take tons of abuse, and are dangerous when you start working with them.

haha good kill. gotta be careful w/ those 2.3Ts though they really wake up w/ minimal mods and make for a light package, especially in something like an XR4ti.

theres a few full interior, completely street legal 2.3T mustangs in the 9s.

yup, 2.3T was in the available in foxes 79-81 then 83-86

83 and 84 may have been the only years for turbo GTs, very rare cars and pretty unique. not sure if 79-81 had turbo gts or just a 2.3T option

Yea, there are some SVO Mustang's that will fly. There's allso is a SVO Thunder Bird and the SC Thunder Bird.

I had a turbo coupe (thunderbird) but it weighed too much. A friend of mine has a coupe 87-93 coupe fox he's thinking of putting a turbo on his 4cyl but it's almost more work than it's worth.

i had one of those in my 89 mustang i swapped it in talk about a fun little car to drive i was pushing 22lbs at the time of her death but they spool like there is no tommorow they have been known with a good set of heads and a large turbo to make upwards of 400whp so becareful lol sory just brought back memories

There's a guy a few streets down from me that just picked up a really clean dark grey SVO. Good condition. Must be modded though. He's driven it in front the house a couple of times and the turbo sound is very pronounced. Wonder if he's hopin to run my GT?:angel:

Makes me think of the current rumor.......that Ford is thinking of putting out a turbo'd sixxer alongside the proposed new 5.0 GT thats being planned for 2010. Word is that the new turbo six would be making about the same hp as the GT (about 350), but would actually make a good bit more torque. Talk about a crazyass hobby car.:drive:

yup the twin force motors. basically a TT duratec(the duratecs respond amazingly well to boost, only real weakness is the stock rods). theres a lincoln that is slated to get the motor first, dont remember the exact model name but its rwd. they are also working on twin force dohc v8s :engarde:

I'm pretty sure that even Ford isn't stupid enough to put a diesel into a Mustang. This is the 2nd or 3rd post of yours where you have mentioned a diesel Mustang.
