Default Easy fix for rear hatch's that don't pop

So I was expirementing with ways to fix this problem and found out that all I had to do was play with the adjustment on the rubber bump stops on the rear corners of the hatch. No springs necessary!

2 turns out on both sides fixed my problem, now the rear hatch pops open everytime. Anymore than 2 turns out and the problem came back, because there was too much preload on the hatch.

If you find a happy medium, it might just fix your problem like it did mine.

Good luck

No, the gaps stayed the same on my car. Not even the slightest bit of change, and my car has never been wrecked so everything is very well lined up.

the other fix is to piggyback a smaller spring onto the existing spring on the release mechanism... that one worked for me. the bump stop thing didn't work for me.

I know its a bit involved but find a way to install the spring popper from when you install a shaved door handles kit. Its a strong spring that flat mounts using a plate.

I tried the piggy back spring the other day and it didn't work at all. The hatch did pop back to back, but once the car sat for a while it tooka few hits of the button to get it open again.

Don't know if this will help, but....

When I got my TA, the hatch wouldn't release all the way as described on this forum. I would have to push the button again on the remote, and pull up on the hatch at the same time to open it.

Then I found if I just held the button on the remote down a second or so longer, the hatch would release all the way. Same with the button on the dash. Hold it for a couple seconds, and the hatch would release all the way.

same thing happened to me.... trie making the spring shorter to have more force but it still didnt work

ended up finding a really strong spring in the garage, drilled a hole down low on the support post for the release mechanism and connecting i there..... pops right up now even with some snow on the trunk
