Default stock manifolds or coated shorty headers for sts?

hi everyone.... i was wondering, what would be more beneficial for my sts setup: stock exhaust manifolds or coated shorty headers? I have both types just sitting in my garage from back in the day, and since i am going to be swapping out my LT's soon i can now reused them. The setup will include an ORY and 2.5" exhaust to the turbo. The shorty headers are edelbrocks and they are ceramic coated. they look like this:

or i have these as well

so any input from you guys? thanks for the help!

They may flow more, but they do not hold in the heat as well as the stock manifolds. Get the stockers ceramic coated black.

coated manifolds are the way to go with the STS.
We did a set for a customer and he said it was a huge difference.
We did a bronze coating and ceramic coated the shields.

I'm running stockers, heat sheilds, and just swapped out the stock y-pipe for a 2.5" s/s ory. the car sounds mean, full spool by 3k. I'm going to wrap the ory and cat back soon. gotta get rid of the mecome (sp?) tips though. I can not stand the look or sound.

Sorry.....non-sponsor. They are local, and USED to do great work. I have had mine re-coated with some new formula they have concocted (sp?) and it didn't come out as nice, or hold up like their old coating.

What is "coating", why do you want it, and how much does it cost?

There are different types of coating; ceramic, bronze, etc..
It is to seal the metal in a way. It hold heat in and on turbo cars helps spool the turbo.
It also protects the metal and looks better.
Cost depends on what you are coating. Manifolds should range from $150 - $200

i'm new to the sts turbo setup stuff, but have lots of experience with other turbo cars, i would say get some C5 z06 stock manifolds have heard they outflow stock ls1 exhaust manifolds big time, port them and then coat them and wrap the hell out of everything else and you should be good to go.

I'm afraid coating won't be available in my area, but won't wrapping manifolds achieve the same effect (regarding turbo spool-up)? I know it won't look so cool, but I'm after power mainly
