Default 2 different Hurst Billet Plus Shifters

There are two different Hurst Billet Plus Shifters:

Part #H-3915060 Billet Shifter, Black Stick (Black handle unit retains factory console boot and shifter **** - does not include new shift ****)

Part #H-3915061 Billet Shifter, Chrome Stick w/ Black **** (Chrome handle unit retains factory console boot and includes a new shift ****)

What is the difference? are the bases the same and only the stick changes?

There are a lot of posts on this forum about the "Hurst Billet Plus Shifter", which one are you guys talking about?

Thanks

Stefano

Is it necessary to cut the boot?

It's the same shifter just one with the chrome stick vs the black stick.
And the weather boot doesn't have to be cut it just makes it easier to feed the shift lever thru the slit.
I didn't cut mine at all but it eventually wore a larger opening over the last 7 yrs.
