Textralia twins? Who has them?
Sup guys,
Is there any sponsor here who has an Exo-Skel in stock right now?
Anyone here bought one very recently?
I had heard they were on a two-week back order some time ago, and that they might now be on hold even longer... I'm ready to buy one ASAP, and I wouldn't mind knowing from where my LS1tech clan is making their own purchases... My whole tranny swap is waiting on this... Thanks fellas,
-Alcides

Wow, okay... Update:
No one certainly has them, sponsors included... Well, those that pick up their phone/return calls at least... Many stories were identical: No definite time frame on the back order. Textralia has run out of the material to fab the pressure plates, with no word on when they'll be able to... Might be a while.
This is what I heard from distributors, though, not from Textralia themselves.
Figured some of you might be interested to know.
I actually got very lucky. Someone local PM'd me recently that he was selling his LS1 Exo-Skel new-in-box, still sealed. I imagine for anybody else though, it's going to be a bit hard to find this thing for a while.

sorry, i know this too is irrelevant, BUT i have a Tex OZ700...i opted for the ARP flywheel bolts.
my motor is now locked up, it won't turn over at all and i was thinking: rod seized to crank/spun bearing/piston ring gouged cylinder/etc....
this ARP bolt thing has me curious though...why are they breaking? what happens when they go? i haven't heard anything about this before i glanced at this thread...
....and to the OP, sorry that's off topic....but FWIW i too have been scavenging for a EXO-SKEL to no avail...

The ARP's are not breaking, they are too long and hitting the clutch plates.
Back on topic.......
Did you get your exo?? Do yourself a favor, change all your hydrolics as well as the pilot bearing. Also get a remote bleeder. You will thank yourself for that later. Use factory GM specs for the flywheel torque as well as the PP torque. Also use loctite on ALL bolts. And DO the drill mod as well as wrap the clutch line in heat tape to keep the fluid from boiling.
Hope this helps some.

Of course this helps! I was on the fence about new hydraulics, but it would be stupid not to change them since the tranny will be out... Good advice here, thanks.
Oh, yes I bought it... Possibly the very last one.

Loctite Red for the OEM Flywheel bolts
Loctite Blue for the Textralia Pressure Plate bolts
I am sure that a good professional will take care of your clutch mounting to perfection.
Enjoy your new clutch!!!
