Default Help! installing YT rockers

I've got AFR 205's milled to 59cc, LG G5X3 cam, 7.35" pushrods - this setup is supposed to work perfectly with the stock rockers. The only think that I'm doing differently is installing YT 1.7 rockers. Will these pushrods work? We've tried adjusting the rockers with and without the shims - with the shims, the rockers have a lot of "slap" to them still. Without the shim, I get 3 1/4 turns on the intake and 1 1/4 turn on the exhaust - doesn't seem to be right either... any help? we're knee deep in the middle of it right now - call my cell and help me out please! 817-819-4173 Thanks!

Well, we couldn't get anywhere last night so I'll pick up an adjustable length pushrod and figure out exactly what length I'll need and go from there.

Are you sure that they are seating properly? Did you first try it on the cylinder where both valves are closed and there is no pressure on the springs? Are you using aftermarket springs?

Yes, we turned the motor over to get piston #1 to TDC where both valves are closed. Comp 921 springs. It's gotta be the pushrod length...

The first thing you need to do is get the wipe pattern correct. Measuring with an adjustable prior to doing the wipe pattern is a waste of time. Here is a link to my wipe pattern adjustment. Once you get the wipe, measure for the pushrod. The YT instructions are confusing at best, throw them away.

thanks - I've read your post several times. What length pushrod did you wind up going with?

I have not installed yet, but I am using Morel lifters which are taller and require less preload. I plan to have Terry Manton make me a custom set when the time comes. I bought a single pushrod from him for use during assembly to check clearances and things and it is absolutely gorgeous.
