Default Hotchkis front springs install

I was wondering if anyone with hotchkis from springs have had the same problem I'm having. I mounted them on one strut but the coils were so close at the bottom I had to hammer the compressors around till I got near the top which had enough opening to get them out. And I ended up putting the upper mount on backwards (180* off), but i cant get the compressors back in and dont wanna hammer them down. I've taken it to a few shops and have had no luck since there wall mounted compressors are too big to get in between the coils.

Anyone have any problems like this?

Hammering them out is the only way to go. I had to the same thing when I installed my Intrax springs. In fact, you probably won't find any lowering springs which have enough gap between the coils when loaded.

I had the same thing when I installed the springs a couple of years ago. Its tricky but its doable.

I did the hammer thing too. Since then, I saw this pic:

(that's the famous Sam Strano, btw)

I'm thinking something like that might work better than the old block/screw compressors.
