Default Greetings...and a question

John here.

After browsing the various production numbers threads I still had a question. (maybe there is no answer, but what the heck)

I recently bought a near mint 1996 Formula WS6 with 67,000 mi.

It is an M6, black hardtop.

Ive seen that there were 500+ of the Formula WS6s built that year and of that about 130+ black ones. Not sure if that breakdown was M6s or A4s or both.

My question is:

Any one know how many black 6-speed HARDTOP 1996 Formula WS6s were built?

Its the hardtop number that still eludes me. Its got to be fairly small.

Thanks in advance!! Glad to be here.

Anyone....?

Seems the production info is pretty scarce for the 1996 cars.
Just trying to narrow down the build info as far as possible.

Any info would be appreciated.

After much 'net digging I was able to find this on a private site. I havent seen this much breakdown(with the tranny and color) on the message boards so this might be useful to some.

A total of 2,575 WS6 cars were made in 1996, out of a total of 30,937 Firebirds.

1996 Formula WS6 Production Breakdown-

Of the 2,575 total WS6's, 524 Formula WS6's were built in 1996.

6 speed cars:

-139 black
-105 red
-51 white
-37 green
-27 silver

A4 cars:

-52 black
-55 red
-24 white
-21 green
-13 silver

I can't verify this because as I said, it came off a private site and I can't reach the guy but this was the furthest breakdown that Ive come across yet.

Now...if I could just get a t-top vs. hardtop number...I'd be set. cool.gif
