New Dyno with H/C's
Finally got some numbers.
353.6 RWHP - 514.0 RWTQ - H/C's
450.9 RWHP - 745.0 RWTQ - N20 (Pig Rich 11.6)
Remember these are on a Mustang Dyno.
Anyone know how much more on a DynoJet?
I will find out this weekend.
Thanks for your help Jason.

Re: New Dyno with H/C's
I am guessing by the really high torque numbers that this is a stroker motor. There is no way a stock motor could make that much torque and not very much HP. Still with all that torque you should be over 400 RWHP. Weird. Unless its a stroker with a mild cam that buzzes 5000 RPMs.

Re: New Dyno with H/C's
I was able to keep my tranny in 3rd for the whole run. So most of the torque is down load. Plus I am sure the converter help alot for the extra torque.

So you've still got the Stage 2 5.3 heads and a TR224 with the Vigi 2800? You look in line then but you're probably short about 15-20 HP because you're lacking headers?
The Torque numbers do look like spikes rather than the peek readings everyone is expecting to see. The Vigi 2800 shouldn't be putting down that much bang.
That being said you're getting nice feed back from your 100 HP dry shot.
You are correct that the Mustangs Dyno does read lower than the Dynojet. I would use the average of 10% lower rather than 15% to be conservative.

Re: New Dyno with H/C's
Actually the spike is 771 TQ. That is when the N20 first hit. I think the difference is the tranny didn't down-shift. So I was able to get a reading lower in the RPM range like you would with a M6. The 745 was @ 2420 RPM's. @ 3000 they were at 657. Where should I read the TQ?
Using 10% I would be @
389 RWHP
496 RWHP

389 RWHP
496 RWHP

Re: New Dyno with H/C's
There is no way you have that much torque. My guess is, because of your convertor, the dyno misread the torque because of torque multiplication. You said you have a 2800 stall convertor, if you look at your dyno, ignore any torque numbers below your stall point. Most 2800 stall convertors usually dont stall til about 3000 RPM, so I'd ignore that.
Also, Mustang dynos are only lower by about 8%, not 15. Using your 10% estimate, 389 RWHP sounds about right for your mods. I don't know how much nitrous shoud affect the torque, but on a non nitrous car, a car making 389 RWHP would probably be somewhere around 365-370 RWTQ.

Re: New Dyno with H/C's
I know that the TC is skewing the TQ numbers. And the engine is obviously not putting out that much torque. But it sure shows how a TC makes torque. No wonder I have no traction..
If I can lock the converter in EDIT, that will show some better TQ numbers.

The torque is from the converter but your numbers look pretty good for a Mustang dyno.
was the converter locked up top?

Re: New Dyno with H/C's
I would be very happy with those numbers. But doubt I can get low 11's with how heavy my car is. I am sure it is closer to 4000 lbs.
But with slicks you never know.

2001camaroguy, did you even read the post before you put up the bs flag, ed vert said he knows the unlocked converter is squewing his torque numbers and its 10-15% lower readings from the mustang dyno, didnt your mother ever teach you to think before you talk, well read and think before you post, Im sure the guy loves to see a bs flag in his post
