I ran my MS4 to 7300 but it kinda fell off around 7175, and the rev limiter was at 7450. However it spun a rod bearing about5 months after putting it in so now im going forged and ill be spinning it up there again. but the factory bearings dont really like a lot of it.

i definitely would not go to 7000 on a stock bottom end. my cam makes power past 6500 but i have my rev limiter set there to save my rods. these engines are good top end runners so if u want to take it that high i'd recommend replacing some bottom end parts unless u want to throw a rod out the block

I would try to shift at 6500 to 6700 RPM because of the stock bottom end (rod bolts and stock bearings) and its a hydraulic cam, if you were solid lift and had a real nice set of heads with ajustable roller rockers then you could more than likely gain something up in the higher RPM. I personally try to shift my car at 6500rpm because by the time I see 6500 on the tack and get it shifted its a little higher.

with only rod bolts, on stock bottem i hit 7100 rev limiter from time to time, but try and shift it at 6800 on motor and 6300 on bottle with no worries, im not too scared of it. but thats just me.

I've got my rev limiter set at 7000 with a MS4 and a stock bottom end. I shift at 6800-6900.
