Default cam "divet"
Ok guys I need to know your opinions on this. Need your opinions on what happened, why it happened and whether the cam can be used again (not by me, my brother wants to know)

I bet that lifter was trashed also. If it is a budget based scatter motor you can try it. If is is a new short block I would get a different cam.

Could have been a few things such as a foreign object getting smashed between the lobe and lifter, the roller on the lifter siezing up, bad cam core, etc. The cam is junk now. Don't use it.
