Is there any reason to install frame ties if Im going to put a 6 or an 8 point cage in? Id like to save the weight if I can and the extra 150 bucks id save wouldent hurt my feelings either
If you are going to drag race the car a lot (I assume that's the reason for the cage) I'd put them in.
If looks like you have a TA? I think GM buttheads put T-tops on every LS1 TA, so yeah, another reason to have subframes.

I was told by the chassis shop I went to even with the added sill bars I needed frame connecters.

They aren't required by NHRA/IHRA rules for a cage, but as mentioned above they help with additional stiffening, especially if you do swing-out door bars.

They are a cheap way to add stiffness to the chassis I would do them.

I would put subframes and outriggers in any cage installation, besides stiffening the chassis and making it stronger and safer if you get into an accident, it also allows you to weld your cage directly to the outriggers and subframe eliminating the need for floor plates.
