Chevelle owner who has aquired LS1
I just found a nice deal on a 98 LS1/4l60e combo with under 50k original miles that was missing only coil packs and the harness/computer
Looking to get this thing dropped into my Chevelle by summer. Sooner the better...
I am not very knowledgeable about these engines yet, so I'm going to need some help.
Plans are to cam/spring the engine before it ever goes in. If porting can help the heads I can do that, but there's no way I can afford heads.
I'm working on a list of parts and with the help of ebay and some local connections it looks like $1600 might be enough cash to put this thing in.
I can't wait
The car has before been geared to be a classic/vintage/retro look with hidden modern touches such as suspension work that has it handling pretty decent, but the future will be modern SS badges and 17"s.

Glad to see you migrated over to this board. You will probably spend more time here than the other board. Most of those guys seem to be stuck in the carb world. Alot of them don't know much about the LS1 and the power potential it holds. As for your install, the hybrid/conversion forum is packed with swap info. This is one of my favorites that I have subscribed to: 71 LS1/T-56 Swap https://ls1tech.com/forums/conversions-swaps/510709-71-chevelle-ls1-t56-progress.html
