Default replacing starter on Lt1

my 94 formula is in need of a starter. Itook a looki today just to check things out. It doesnt look like its has room to come out without takin off the Y pipe or cat. Anyone know if it will come out without dealing with the exhaust. If i have to take off the exhaust i think it may be time for some new headers and Y

Easy way? Pull the Y-Pipe. SOME say you CAN finagle that bastard out. Tip: Buy the smaller starter (if you have the big old style). Here's a P# you can use to cross reference. Autolite 9990S

Don't ask what car it's out of, I can't remember. It's like 95-97 F-Body LT1s I think, but I don't remember. I worked at the parts store when I bought it and jsut went through the boxes till I found the right minitorq Apparently the Corvette one is even smaller, more torquey and works if you want to use that.

A better place to post this would be the LT1 section.
