Default Shifter issue.

Shifter is having difficulty slipping into first. Sometimes it gets kind of stuck... and you have to basically shove into gear.

its a factory hurst shifter.

How is your clutch? How old? Checked fluids? A little more info would help for better diagnoses.

Do you have a short stick?

Those factory hurst shifters are pretty stiff when you use it with a short stick because you have no leverage. Thats how my brothers WS6 is.

a clutch that's on its way out would cause this. low/old fluid could do this, as well. hopefully it's not a synchro (you would get a chirp if it was).

I have this problem sometimes too. The car is said to have a rather new Centerforce clutch. I thought this was maybe just the way it is. The fluid level is fine.
