Default Selling The TA, Have Q's =-)

Hey whats up everyone? I unfortunately have decided to sell the Trans Am to help finance another project. I know ill never get what i have in it back out but was wanting to see what you guys think i could get out of the car. Perfect carfax.

99 NBM TA A4
42,XXX mi.
Lid - K&N - Ported TB - LS6 Intake - !EGR/AIR
Pacesetter Coated LTs, Custom 3” ORH, Moroso Spiral Flows, Turn Downs
Strano Springs - Strano Revalved Bilstein HDs
Tune - NGK TR55s - Motive 3.73
Got 5% Tint And Blackouts but prob just take all that off for the sale.

Paint is an 8.5 I guess, very minor scratches here and there and 2 tiny rock chips on the hood.

Interior is basically brand new! For a used car id call it a 10.

Runs incredible and very strong for bolt-ons. Has a CEL on but i had it checked at autozone and they said perhaps bad gas (it sits alot too). Also the driver window motor is dying, its starting to get slow. Other than that its great.

I have powder coated and clear coated black TTIIs - 315s on the car but figured it could sell them separate and make a little more money off them that way instead of leaving em on the car??

Shoot me some figures to get me in the right direction please. I have appreciated all the help from everyone with this car, youve all been a great asset!

kbb.com or NADA.com On here, I'd be surprised to see it go for more than 9k.

there are a lot of fbodies that have been selling for way to cheap in my opinion . it is hard to find one with less than 50k miles on it . if it was me a would sit firm on at least $13k . selling it for $9k is hardly even worth it . it could just sit in the driveway if it were me .

If it doesn't sell, try putting the originals back on and see if it sells then. IMO I don't like those rims, but that's just me. Everyone has their own taste.

Really nice looking car with low miles compared to most others. I woulden't expect to get more then $10,000-10.5 though.

id keep it for 10k. id prob do 12. its basically perfect with true duals and 42k. hell i paid 14 for it with 8k less miles and stock haha. but i understand everything is relative to what a person wants and is willing to pay for something nice. i have seen some REDICULOUS prices on here on some cars tho for real.

considering the condition and low miles. i would think you could get about 12500 out of it. but not much more then that.

You can def get 12k for that..in NJ at least. I always look through the autoshopper and online and see people and dealerships asking $13-15k for 98-00 TA's w/50-70k miles and a few 01-02's with the same mileage for $17-18k

I wouldnt expect more then 10K due to year and NADA and KBB both are saying that. Then again, if you sell it in your area i would expect the above but anywhere in the midwest your not getting more then 10K.

well KBB says a fox body 5.0 is like a 1,000 but yet they sell of 5-6 ANY DAY. thats not the bible of the car world. certain vehicles hold a slight premium vs. run of the mill crap.

Never said it was a bible im just qouting a source from which is ment to guide you not say this is what it will sell for. Asking 3-4K more then book value is going to both shun buyers away AND only attract cash buyers. Reason for that is most banks wont go more then BBV when your going in for a loan so if you happen to not pay on it and they repo it. They want there money back and if its for an amount more then BBV, then it wont help their case in getting back the money. Its not logical to try and sell a car that is nearly 10 years old (for 98/99's) that is average for 15K (give or take 1K), it just wont sell..at all. IMO its to much, id start at 11K and stick around there (10-11K is not a bad price to sell a car at).

i guess between the economy being screwed up, everyone always trying to jew someone out of anything, and the cars not holding value worth a damn i might end up at like 11.

its funny that half the people that post to my threads have these huge mod lists and pictures but my signature got taken off with no warning and said that my list was too long, but yet it wasnt half as long as alot of peoples. this site is getting lame..

You'll never get anything over 10K. No one wants a 99. They want an 01 and an 02

Sucks but it's reality

The two price killing factors are the automatic and the model year.

That car has all the mods I want except no clutch. I wouldn't pay more than 10, because I couldn't justify it.

That being said, it could be sold for 13 for someone that wants exactly that.

I want your tint and wheels though!

Good luck with the sale.
