Default 230/224 bad with non-stock heads?

after reading alot of threads im gathering that the 230/224 is bad with aftermarket heads. The way everyone describes this cam is great all around power and thats what i want, i dont want something that only has top end. I plan on eventually putting heads on my car. Is there another cam that has a similar power range that works well with heads too??

the TR230/224 is a good proven cam!! it will work with aftermarket heads. im running the MTI X1 230/227 and im making 393 rwhp stock heads no pulley and 2.73 through an auto!!! im looking at some 5.3 heads or LS6 heads to compliment this cam.
