I saw this car and it got me to thinking...

http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/03/brabus_bullitba_hi01.jpg

Are there any Flat-Black Trans Am's out there???

If not, any photoshop Guru's wanna tackle this for me???

I am SERIOUSLY thinking about this after seeing that car...

If 'chopped, I'd black out the DRL's, front and rear side markers and tail lights.

Thanks!!!

GM Performance Parts LS7 Camaro is flat black, looks great. As for the trans ams, haven't seen one yet. The Camaro is featured in a past issue of GMHTP magazine.

That is about what I have in mind... I really think I want to go with shiny wheels though, either chrome or polished. I like black-on-black, but that's a little too much with it being flat maybe...???

The GMPP camaro is more of a semi-gloss if you ask me. Might be the lighting. Cant find any firebirds done in flat though.

I never thought I`d say this, but that Trans AM looks awesome! Especially with the Chrome 10 spokes!

Looks good but how the hell do you take care of a paint job like that. Wash it of course but I would imagine waxing it would be a major no no. Unless theres a special wax or cleaner

If everything works out, I'll be having an LS-1 WS-6 in Satin or Matte black ASAP!

I will be on Stock 17" Polished wheels for a while, I'll be sure to post up pics.

I am also interested in how-to care for that paint...???

I think thats awsome. Before you paint though make sure you figure out how to care for it. Might be more trouble maintaining then its worth. I hope not because I want to see some pics :D

+1 on the paint care thing, that looks badass. I hate X 9384673294867 my gloss black and have really thought about switching to flat. If you used a flat compatible clear coat I don't see why it would be any different to take care of than a gloss paint? Someone who knows, please enlighten us. Could also produce some sweet CETA panels with contrast.

Flat and satin clears need not to be waxed or buffed ever or they will then shine. Just washing. Very easy care, but I would use a reputable name in clear as it will never have the protection of a wax.

i've always wondered what our cars looked like w/o a wing:barf:

someone told me that my factory wing was ricer on my TA????..... he also thought his mustang was faster, i made $55 dollars that day then he tried to say i had N2O i asked him if he'd like to lose more money on another bet lol

That car looks great IMO besides the no wing thing hes got going. The satin look on the trans am is a whole lot better looking than the flat thats on the two camaros.

you can get the flat black look with a basecoat/clearcoat paint. paint the car gloss black or if its already gloss black, you add talc to the clearcoat and spray it over the gloss black. the more talc you add, the lower the gloss. and you will still have a smooth durable finish. i only know this because i used to work at a paint plant in the lab.

I think the bird would look good if they put an old school spoiler on it. Not the wing but one like the 70s models had. It would also need ccws and exhaust tips :)

well actually u can wax it..and even buff it..u can even wet sand it..its the clearcoat..the clearcoat has an agent in it tht makes it possible to buff and clean and polish with eash and without worry of ruining it.
