Default wiring harness

I have an LT-1 from a 96 Impala SS, with the 4L60E. Only thing I needed was a wiring harness. So I removed a wiring harness from another B Body, and hopefully got all I needed. I have the original MAF, and ECM as well.

I plan to put this in a 1978 Malibu, and all I am going to run is an alternator. No power steering, brakes, AC. etc etc.

As far as the wiring harness is concerned, I removed it carefully, all the way to the fuse box. I clipped the wires from under the dash. I hope I got everthing to make the motor and tranny shift in the future.

What are the "does and don't" when it comes to the removing/using a salvaged harness? I don't want to spend 600 on one from Painless if I don't have to. Only paid 20 bucks from Pick-n-Pull for this one.
