Default Stock Lifters Or Aftermarket

How important is it to upgrage your lifters. I am finishing up buying all the misc parts for my motor and wanted to see if I could get away with some new stock type ls1 lifters. I'd hate to pay close to $200 for aftermarker lifters that offer no advantage over stock. Are their any type of restrictions on stock gm lifters? I was planning on being around 700 rwhp.

Its a good idea to buy some aftermarkets like the Morels for insurance. That said the only part I skimped out on for my build was my lifters, I kept the stockers, they still work too.

I figured as much. I'm still thinking about going with some new stockers though. Getting to close to putting this thing together and I found some good deals on new stock lifters with the lifter guide.
