Default Car sputters but SES light?

weird problem, when I left my house, the car would barely move forward, it felt and sounded like the tranny was stuttering, but when I gave it more gas, it moved just fine. well about 10 minutes later on the highway it did the same thing, it would stutter and not move until I gave it more gas and then it would surge forward, I was a little low on gas, les than 1/4 tank but i don't know if that would cause any problems.

I have a cam and and a 3200 stall and it's been tuned for both already.
the tranny was rebuilt already.

either your tranny is slipping/going out or your fuel pump is failing.

Could have a dead spot in your Throttle position sensor if it happens when you are giving it the same amount of gas. It's pretty common for them to go bad near a cruising speed tp %

Thanks guys,
how would I test to see if it's the fuel pump or TP sensor?

I filled it up today and it ran just fine

You would need a scan tool to check the TPS. It should have set a pending code if the TP volts dropped to 0v or went up to 5v, the best way to check it though is with a real time scanner. You just observe the TPS voltage as you push the throttle down, either while driving or with the engine off. If it jumps around, or if you see 0v or 5v at any time, you know the TPS or the wiring going to it is bad.
