Default how long did your first LS1 cam swap take?

my first one wasn't a good one since i broke some gaskets and had to wait on them to come in so it took roughly 2 days, it made me kinda curious who else had spent this much time doing something like this.

Took me about oh hmmm 2 weeks :p

Though I was doing heads, oil pump, pulley, LS6 PCV etc... at the same time... ended up loosing a few days due to needing parts, and a few more due to having the wrong tools... and a few more days due to being pissed off about the previous days oh and a few more days due to having to pull it all apart again cause I didn't align my front seal right and had oil leaking... then more cause I had a tranny fluid leak that I had to fix...

the pulley can be a bitch...we broke the first puller we tried to use last week when we did mine, so we took it back and got another one and it came right off

It took us like a MONTH.

We only worked on my buddy's car on Saturdays and we just chipped away at it.

This was in the beginning of 1999.

Mine took two days.

Oh man. It was 1 year ago on Sunday. Having only changed the oil in my cars I was in for a rude awakening. Took my time, did everything right and it took 4 days at about 10 hours a day. But man when I fired it up at 1am I yelled a loud **** yeah! Super glad I did it myself.

My first cam install on the LS1 took about 6 hours, including the springs. The hardest part was the springs. I kept dropping the keepers and having to hunt them down with the magnet. Other than that, everything went nice and smooth.

hell, the springs on mine took about 30-45 minutes for all of'em. me and my buddy dan had a system, he'd compress the spring i'd get the keepers, he'd put the new spring/retainer on and i'd hold the keepers on until he pulled the compressor/spring up and then uncompressed the spring. it was very quick...easier than me doing it and getting pissed and throwing a spring or something bigger
