Hate to hear another drag racer has died doing what he loved. 65 year old Nostaliga Top Fuel racer John Shoemaker was killed in a qualifing accident saturday.
Here's a article on the accident and what they think happened.......speculation is that John had an heart attack during the run and when he went thru the traps and never let of the throttle or let the chutes out. In other words he was wide open all the way to the sand traps.
RIP John Shoemaker, and condolences to the family.

Sad - that's young. Hard to understand with a Heart Attack you wouldn't lift but you would drive straight. No time is the right time.

That's like a drive away, been to there a few times, that blows poor guy, at least he died racing vs. lying in some bed.
