Default Still having problems with hotstarts with new cam in a C5

Okay guys my cam is a 228/230 on a 112. My IAC is up to 23 from 20 degrees up. My idle air in gear is 140% acroos the board. Timing is raised 2 degrees up to 2000 rpm. i've multiplied the VE by 80% up to 1200. My idle is raised to 900. Now my prob is on a hotsart the car sarts up then the idle drops to 500 then recovers. That's not too bad I know. Then the other prob is If i start it up then try to say back out with the whell turned it will stall. If I wait for 20 seconds or so then try it then it's okay. Is this just the way it's going to be or can I fix it.

Where did you add timing - all
tables?Is your TB drilled?

Sounds like it needs more air.

I added 2 degrees up to 2000 rpm. I don't have the TB drilled-I'm hoping u don't have to do that with edit. it's getting close. I think I may just have to keep increasing the IAC and the idle in gear tables.

Even though you have edit you will still have to drill your TB with a cam that size. All the PCM can do is open the IAC wide open, but that will still not be enough air. Drill it out to a full 1/4" if you want to idle at 950 rpm with the A/C on. Part of your problem is probably also in the Open Loop Fuel Air Multiplier table. You will need to multiply the whole table by 60%; the stock table feeds in way too much fuel for a big cam. The reason it's OK after 20 seconds or so is it goes closed loop and stops using this table. I went through the same thing with my car last week.

With a Corvette you DO NOT drill the butterfly of the T.B !

The C5 uses drive by wire (ETC) and there is a TAC controller that controls TB for idle and drilling a hole in will confuse ETC and you'll regret having done so.
C5 does not have a IAC as a F-body does since TAC handles idle condtions.

Just because people do it on F-body, does not make it right for all GM models.

Its all within the tuning, in over 150 C5s and F-body tunes I have done, not 1 required I drill a hole to obtain correct idle and that includes Turbo, SC or NOS, to C5R and 427 powertrains.

Woops, sorry about that, I'm a Camaro! I can see that with ETC you would not have the need for holes. But with my Fbody, there is no way it could get enough air to maintain my 950 rpm idle with the A/C on without a bigger hole. IAC's go right up to max (210 counts) and the idle can't maintain more than 800 rpm. I guess that would work for someone that is happy with the stock idle speed.

Okay I think I'm 99 percent there now. I have raised my IAC to 25 after 0 degrees Celcius and raised my running airflow to 140%. The VE is back to stock and I added 2 degrees of timing up to 2000 rpm. So far it looks good.
