Cam chioce????
well im thinking that i want to make my car into a cam only car? I am goin to start competing in our local car club drag racing group. The travel around texas going to both 1/8th mile and 1/4 mile tracks. So i got my car done for now on the appearance side for now and want to start makin this thing faster. I really want to get into the 11's. plan on up grading the whole valve train, with new and strong/better components. here is what i have to work with:
New Motor (355 LT1) (newly built long block) new everything with an M6 Transmission (has 10,XXX miles on it)
4.10 gears in newly completly rebuilt 10-bolt
Ported LT1 intake
taller valve covers
58mm throttle body
K&N filter, Ramair intake box
Aeromotive adjustable fuel pressure regulator
custom 3 inch exhaust
pacesetter headers
High Fow Magnaflow Cats
Taylor Wires
MSD Distributor
stage 2 clutch
Skip shift eliminator
EGR delte
LT1 edit tunning(i mess with it on my computer)
17/11 rear wheels

Oh yeah, it can be done. You gotta have a really good launch though, so you'll need at least a decent suspension and tires. I also think a custom cam would be a good idea. If you must pick an off the shelf cam, then go with a CC 503, but custom is ideal and really shouldn't cost all that much more.

if you want to dip into the 11's on a cam only setup you will need a pretty good launch, and being as how you have a 10 bolt with 4.10's, that 10 bolt will wave bye bye on drag radials
start saving for a 12 bolt or 9 inch

you might try texas speed products. i know they deal alot with ls1 parts but i think they have just about everything for a lt1 also. i see many people using texas speed cams so check them out and see if you like.

I would recommend Advanced Induction, i love my set-up and it dyno'd pretty much 360RWHP and traps 87 mph consistently in the 1/8th mile, i just can't launch the car with my suspension so i'll never have good e/t's
