Default questions?.. on what to do about a cam

i got a set of 5.3 ported heads to go on my car , what cam is good to go with? am i gona have to worry bout clearnce? what lift and duration would be good to go with ? thanks

stock pistons.

I went w/ a 228/232 w/ just under .600 lift on a 112 w/ a set of LS6 style heads. It works great, though for me the powerband comes slightly late in the RPM range (>3.5k RPMs). Overall though, i'm really happy w/ the cam. In the distant future, i might look at a 224.

Clearance shouldn't be an issue unless you're looking late 30's range i would assume. Lift should hover around .600

We do alot of the Torquer 3 camshafts with our PRC 5.3l stage 2.5 cnc heads. You should see about 50rwhp gains from the Torquer camshaft over a stock cam!

Milling and gasket thickness will also affect PTV clearance and should be considered too.

i saw almost 45 rwhp from a torquer v2 only swap
