Default Guess My Power On A Rebuild

Getting my engine rebuilt and adding a few small modifications from stock, anyone care to guess what kind of RWHP I'd be making through an A4?

Machine work - Balance, blueprint, bore and hone (20 over), mild port work on heads, rebuild heads, resize rods.

New valves, block, crank, forged pistons and moly rings.

Cam is Crane #104224 that has 214 intake 220 exhaust duration @.050 lift with a .452 intake .465 exhaust lift. The powerband is 2000-5500 rpm.

Also JBA shorty headers, 3" catback, CAI.

52MM TB and mail order tune shortly after.

What do you think?

That's a very mild combo....
I have had a lot of experience with similar combos with about 10.5 to 1 compression...Unlocked converter with those headers and cat you might pull 330 rwhp on a dynojet...I know you have smog test down there so, no big cams, full lenghts, cat delete. You could do E-pump though... Actually, I just noticed no 1.6 rockers and that small of lift or your cam (infact is that a HYD roller cams lift numbers???????). You can knock another 20 or so off that. An LPE 74211 actually made by accel would have been a lot better choice and with 1.6rockers would have gave you someting like 560ish lift (can't remember the exact numbers) and would have been similar @50 duration numbers 211/219. And pass smog no problem....

Thanks for the reply. I asked for a mild, smog friendly setup, so I'd be happy with just a little over 300 rwhp, a pretty decent jump from stock.

They actually said my compression would be bumped up a bit, don't know if that helps.

And can I do 1.6 rockers later, or do I have to change other stuff to change rockers?

Forgive my motor noobness. I won't get it for 1-2 weeks and was just wondering what to expect.

320 RWHP maybe? Should be a nice mild street setup if that's what you're after.

Yeah, it's gonna be mild, but I bet it'll be a mint driver! Should make good power over a stock LT1. I agree that you should go with the 1.6 rockers now. Why not finish the build in one shot?

I'm considering it, just aren't sure if I can spend any more on the build. I'll have to make up my mind soon though, it may be too late if I wait too long. How much do they cost, like $200 for a set? I didn't want to because the lifters are already new and I don't think they are even going in that area.

And just to be clear, 1.6 RR are more or less, a stand-alone modification, I don't have to match anything else to these rockers, they just work better along with other mods, correct?

And yes, a mild street setup is what I was going for....I'm excited!

Thanks for the help.
